The UK is prepared to move forward with using the entire amount of seized Russian funds to aid the Ukrainian war effort, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to engage in negotiations.

They added that the decision would be implemented in tight collaboration with the United States.

British sanctions have frozen over £25bn of Russia's assets since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, previously, funds sent to Ukraine using Russia's assets had only been sourced from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their aim to advance efforts toward using the complete amount of the seized Moscow's national holdings to conclude the conflict.

He noted that additional restrictions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on Russia.

This declaration comes after EU representatives gathered in Copenhagen recently to consider utilizing frozen Russia's assets for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to Ukraine.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump called on Group of Seven partners to take or employ seized Russian funds, according to news outlets.

The worth of frozen Russian holdings in the Europe is calculated to be nearly €211bn.
