We open with questions from Tory Member of Parliament the panel's head, who leads the panel.

"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation tilting in any particular direction, My only wish is for it balanced, fair and fair," he declares.
When asked whether he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is institutionally biased, the adviser replies: "No I don't. It is important to note, numerous aspects the BBC creates is exceptional - both factual and fictional shows."
However, he continues: "There remains significant effort that must be undertaken at the BBC."
Another former external BBC adviser examined by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she regards the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it operates a "continuous process and active debate" on evolving and intricate issues.
"Whether the BBC was willing to engage in a genuine conversation and debate and take action?" she questions. "As I see it, affirmative, they were."
